Faster Than Light Travel Deemed Possible

Faster than light travel is surely the staple of science fiction, or is it? Until now, physicists have agreed that the speed of light is an absolute limit for any object or phenomena in our Universe. Then, back in 1994, a set of equations emerged that showed how if would be theoretically possible to 'warp' space in such a way that a vehicle is covering distances at a rate faster than "c" but enclosed in a gravitational bubble such that the vehicle itself is not exceeding c.

Only problem with that is the amount of energy required to warp space is a lot. As in, to propel one craft across our galaxy at faster-than-light speed would require more energy than exists in the entire universe.

Now, a physicist has theorized a new, far more energy-efficient method of producing the necessary gravitational distortions to produce warp drive. Serious scientists are taking note. It maybe, really could, possibly be done.

Should 't we be working on stuff like this instead of another generation of nuclear weapons?

  1. Yeah to warp drive! I'm SO ready. Imagine what it will be like when we move beyond fossil fuels. Yeeah! Have you heard of zero point energy? Gosh there's a guy who got a disk shaped object to levetate back in the 70's I think it was? I saw this blog where a bunch of physicists were talking about the possibilities and experiments that have happened so far. Youtube is amazing for that sort of thing. The knowledge is growing exponentially because people can see what others are doing and share information about it. It's definitely an exciting time, if one looks at it from the right perspective.
