King George Was More Popular Than Congress Today

By now, I'm sure you've heard the 112th Congress that just ended was the least productive in history. No surprise it receives the lowest approval rating (9%) in modern opinion polling history.

The Washington Post compared Congress' approval rating with that of several other historic people and institutions. King George was approximately twice as popular among Americans during the Revolutionary War than Congress is today. More Americans (11%) said they approved of the USA turning communist than approve of the job the 112th Congress did.
