Gay Pride Heroics in Uganda

Being gay is illegal in Uganda and punishable by death. Pictures like this one have been coming out of Uganda for a week now, and they uniformly show great acts of courageous defiance. LGBT equality and non-discrimination are universal human rights, not civil rights peculiar to the USA. These fundamentally personal rights must be respected not as part of some agenda to turn America gay or similar hater nonsense, rather, it is a central principal of democracy that in protecting the rights of any minority -- not giving them "special" treatment just ensuring they receive the same rights as everyone else -- protects the very rights we all enjoy.
