Going Postal

Article I, Section 8, Clause 7 of the United States Constitution, known as the Postal Clause or the Postal Power, empowers Congress "To establish Post Offices and post Roads".

The Republican Congress under Bush created a massive Federal slush fund by taxing the U.S. Postal Service in an extraordinary way. This has accumulated to the point of endangering the continued operation of the USPS, and will eventually exterminate it. Meanwhile, large, costly, overnight-delivery, Congressionally-lobbying CORPORATIONS flourish, by delivering at mail at $12 an item, instead of less than half a buck.

Gee, I wonder how that could have happened.
